Lafayette Square is a beautifully maintained neighborhood with two applicable tax rates. These rates reflect City, State, and Neighborhood Tax Improvement fees. The State and City tax rate is 12.179% and is applied to food, non-alcoholic beverages, and service charges. The State tax rate is 10.679% and is applied to alcoholic beverages, room fees, equipment, labor, admin fees, or any other fees that may occur from a custom or special accommodation. Our Service Charge is 21% and is taxed by law. If your organization is Tax Exempt, we will require a Tax Exempt Letter prior to when your final payment is due to waive the taxes that apply.

Our standard room setup includes dining tables (rounds or rectangles set for 10 guests), chairs, china, glass, silver, and white or black linens. We offer a variety of event décor that you can choose from at no additional cost. We also have several ‘Optional Items’ that you may choose to add to your event, such as chargers, floating candles, fresh greens or florals, plus stationary and signage items, including larger welcome signs, seating charts, programs, menu cards, and escort cards.

SqWires is happy to create custom menus, vegetarian & vegan options as well as accommodate guests with dietary restrictions.

Acceptable forms of payment for deposits and final payments are personal checks, company checks, cashier checks, cash, money orders, or our online ACH option. We do accept credit cards; however, a small processing fee will apply. We do require a valid credit card number on file for all events.

  • Check, Cash, or Money Order: 14 days prior to your event.
  • Online ACH Payment: 21 days prior to your event.

Our Basic Ceremony Fee is $500 and includes:

  • Indoor Chair Setup and Breakdown
  • Sound and Coordination

Please note: This fee is only available when your reception is hosted at SqWires. We offer a variety of ceremony options. Please visit our Ceremony page for more specific pricing, additional costs, and permit requirements.

We are happy to schedule a ceremony rehearsal one or two days prior to your wedding. We cannot guarantee we will be able to rehearse in the same location that your ceremony is planned, but we will find a suitable area and time that works for you.

We have two guest houses just steps away from our venue. They are fully equipped and perfect for getting ready for the big day. They are available to rent for the day or the entire weekend.

At no extra charge, our events team will work with you to plan the details of your event, including menu and beverage selections, the order of events and timeline, room setup, layout, and seating plan, plus any design and decor you are planning.

This service is also provided for our wedding couples. Your coordinator will meet with you several times throughout the planning process to discuss all the details for your ceremony and reception. This also includes documenting and connecting with all of your hired vendors to ensure the venue arrangements and timeline are well communicated, and things run smoothly.

On the day of the event, we will set the ceremony and reception to your plan, including the table top, ceremony, and reception decor. We will remain onsite until dinner service is complete to ensure a smooth event.

The room must be clear of all items by your event end time. We want to make sure the room is beautiful and ready for the next event after yours.

We do not allow confetti, glitter, rice, birdseed, helium balloons, tape, or adhesive of any kind. We prefer flameless candles to be used in our spaces. If you would like to bring in your own vases or votives, you are permitted to use wax candles everywhere but on the mezzanine. Only flameless is permitted in that area.

Parking is great at SqWires! We have a private lot, a large public lot, plus ample meter free street parking on Park Ave and 18th Street.

All parking options are shared/public, but free to access.
