SqWires Joins the 2024 Food Waste Challenge!
We’re excited to announce our participation in Earth Day 365’s Green Dining Alliance Food Waste Challenge this October! Alongside several other local restaurants, we’re stepping up to reduce food waste and enhance our sustainable practices.
Our Track Record
Last year’s challenge inspired some of our most creative culinary solutions:
- Transforming season-end green tomatoes into fresh pico de gallo
- Crafting delicious omelettes from egg whites leftover from our hollandaise sauce preparation
- Creating hearty stews from surplus beef short ribs and pork tenderloin

This year, we’re expanding our commitment to sustainability through several initiatives which we look forward to sharing with you in the coming weeks!

During the challenge, the Green Dining Alliance team conducts thorough audits to:
- Assess our most effective waste reduction practices
- Identify new opportunities for food rescue
- Develop innovative, sustainable solutions tailored to our restaurant
