In October SqWires is cooking up dishes from apples to zucchini and everything in between. We’re all about good recipes and quality cooking that everyone will enjoy… from healthy entrees to decadent desserts. October 24 is Food Day, reminding us to “Eat Real”, with menus made up of local, healthy, sustainable products.

Now that it’s officially Fall, the days get shorter, but you won’t even notice when you dine outdoors on SqWires patio, enjoying the incredible weather and our new festive evening lighting.

In October we celebrate “World Egg Day” – SqWires Saturday & Sunday Breakfast and Brunch feature quiche with garden vegetables and eggs poached with salmon or strip steak and hollandaise – perfect with the Bloody Mary or Mimosa Bar and all the fixings.

It’s also American Beer Month. Come in for Happy Hours Tuesday thru Friday 4pm til 7pm with specially priced beers, wines, drinks, appetizers.

National Dessert Month means more luscious endings for your meal. Pumpkin isn’t just for Halloween. It’s bright orange flesh is delicious in SqWires signature bread pudding. And it may show up in October ice cream too.

Observe National Seafood Month, come on in Fridays 5pm til 7pm for fresh shucked oysters and steamed and chilled in the shell shrimp.

Try Wednesdays half price bottles of wine. Pair a red bordeaux with our roasted garlic strip steak; chardonnay with blackened Alaskan cod; and a sparkler with linguini & clams.

Thursday night Family Style Fried Chicken Dinner is a great time to bring the crowd and polish off a table full of crispy buttermilk fried chicken, creamy butter whipped potatoes and country gravy, old fashioned green bean casserole, baked mac & cheese, buttermilk biscuits with honey butter.

Tuesday SqWare Plates will feature the fall harvest on small plates $5 each or 5 for $20. Special creations from the kitchen for one night only.

Lafayette Square invites you to celebrate the season in the Square with a Civil War Re-Enactment in the Park with Quilt Display and Vintage Base Ball beginning at 1 pm Sunday October 6. Tricks & Treats on Park at the neighborhood businesses with party and parade begin at the Fountain in the Plaza by SqWires at 11 am Saturday October 26. The Halloween Parade and Party begins at the Lafayette Park Playground at 5:30pm on Thursday October 31. Enjoy the festivities and stop in at SqWires for brunch or lunch or dinner with the family.
