September is more than back-to-school. September hosts National “I Love Food Day” and there are delicious things to cook in September as we make the most of this month’s bounty of locally grown ingredients in fresh inventive ways. From “biscuits to bourbon” you have reasons to celebrate. We are halfway to St. Patrick’s Day, so finish your evening at SqWires with Irish Whiskey or Irish Coffee. In Lafayette Square September brings the Tour de Lafayette – The Gateway Cup’s nighttime criterium bicycle racing around Lafayette Park September 4 with festivities from 2pm til 10:30pm. And September also features the final concerts and movies in the Park. So come on by SqWires before, during or after your outdoor adventures and events for a casual meal to enjoy here or packed to go. Take advantage of the cool evening air as the summer winds down and relax with dinner on SqWires patio (Your favorite dog best friend is welcome here, too.)
September is “Better Breakfast Month” and you can’t find a better breakfast and brunch than SqWires every Saturday and Sunday 8am-3pm. Featuring the epic Bloody Mary and Mimosa Bar for all the accessories.
Fridays bring bracing cold oysters on the half shell and steamed and chilled shrimp for just $1 from 5 to 7pm accompanied by the cool guitar of Tom Hall.
Fantastic family style dinners return in September – Fried Chicken with all the fixings are back on Thursday nights. Sharing dishes gives you something to talk about and brings smiles all around.
Is it rare to find a medium-bodied red wine that’s well done? You can continue your search on Wednesdays at SqWires when your bottle of wine is half price with your entree.
We like our customers to choose their own tasting adventures on Tuesday evenings. Special SqWare Plates for one night only $5 each or five for $20 lets you design your table to indulge or to share.
