November gives us notice that Thanksgiving and Christmas and Hanukkah are only a few weeks away. It’s time to get serious about that eating routine! November also hosts World Vegan Day (come inhale the heady fragrance and enjoy the taste and texture of our luscious vegetable lasagna; our polenta with stewed white beans and collard greens; the vegetable ragu with crispy spinach; open-faced grilled vegetable pita; and banana toast with real maple syrup). Observe National Take a Hike Day and follow up with lunch or dinner at SqWires to celebrate National Eat With a Friend Day. The first frost brings us the sweetest harvest and we are awash with veggies that love a nip of frost. Roasted meats and roasted vegetables offer the perfect satisfaction on cool November days. And pumpkin everything will appear as specials throughout the month. The newest menu items include grilled sage-dusted free range chicken airline breast; spinach and walnut whole wheat ravioli in a light parmesan cream; griddled crab and corn cakes; vegetable ratatouille with crispy spinach.
