Love, Actually – We love February for oh so many reasons – Valentines Day, Mardi Gras, the birthdays of Lincoln, Washington and St. Louis (Pierre Laclede arrived here on February 14th) – it’s Celebrate Chocolate Month, National Cherry Month, with National Strawberry Day and Oscar night. We needed an extra day this year to celebrate all this and more.

It will be love at first sight when you see this romantic dinner menu we are serving on February 10th, 11th, and 14th. Of course all our regular ala carte menu items are available; but we’re adding honey-roasted almond and brie fondu – toasted artichoke heart and hearts of palm marinated salad – butternut squash risotto – grilled strip steak with red wine and pink peppercorn butter – housemade pecan sweetie pies – and “gratis” Prindable dark chocolate and Prosecco punch. Make your reservation right away.

Good living includes great wines. Take advantage of half price bottles with your entree on Wednesdays to explore a new syrah – delicious with plenty of fruit or maybe a riesling with an edge of acidity to balance a flattering residue of sweetness.

Because timing is everything you won’t want to miss happy hours at SqWires Tuesdays thru Fridays 4-6pm – great prices on beer, wine, appetizers.

In February SqWires SqWare Plates on Tuesday night – playing with your food and sharing bites is the whole idea. Always a surprise – half a dozen choices $5 each.

Warm fire, cool music – February includes Mayor Taylor, Tom Hall, Falling Martins, Pennsylvania Slim Duo, Curt Landes, Dawn Weber Duo, Margaret Bianchetta Duo, Monica Casey, Bumblebee Bob Kamoski, Big Bamou, Bill Murphy, Brian Curran Duo, Hugh Peanuts Whalum.

Please excuse us from interrupting your February celebrating – but we must introduce you to SqWires new GM Jen Hazel, tempting recipe maven who has a way with locally-sourced ingredients and a knack for running a seriously welcoming space. Come on in and say a warm hello.
