13 Dec December Newsletter

Yes, there really is a Santa Claus.  We know because this year he’s bringing us at SqWires a brand new fireplace in the restaurant, a time to meet lots of new friends and delight in seeing old friends at the Lafayette Square  Holiday Tour, plus delectable morsels of holiday indulgences from our local growers and suppliers to share with all of you.  What more could be on our list!

If you like to entertain more than you like to cook, just call us and bring your colleagues and friends and family

to SqWires for a holiday get-together.  A table in the restaurant for a small gathering – or reserve the Annex or the Front Room for 20 to 220.   The chefs will roast and grill and simmer up a winter menu sure to please all the people all the time.

Holidays are known for the best visits and the best wines.  And every Wednesday, you can visit with your friends here at SqWires and enjoy a bottle of wine for half price with your lunch or dinner entrees.  We have some super sparklers that just seem right this time of year, plus some red gems that are spicy and smooth.

Stop in from 5-7pm before your Friday gift shopping excursion and have a light bite of freshly shucked oysters or steamed and chilled jumbo shrimp to put you in a jolly mood.  The guitar and banjo sounds of Tom Hall will send you happily on your way.

St. Louis’ most enjoyable music is here at SqWires Friday & Saturday nights and Sunday Brunch.  In December you can listen to Tom Hall, Falling Martins, Monica Casey, Brian Curran, Big Bamou, Bill Murphy, Bumblebee Bob Kamoski, Curt Landes.  Come on in and relax.

You will surely want to be in Lafayette Square Sunday December 12  to enjoy the Holiday Parlour Tour of 10 homes and the sights and sounds and scents of Victorian Christmas with lighted windows, decorated trees, carriage rides, carolers, and the Victorian neighborhood in all its splendor. 10am – 5pm $15 advance tickets (we have tickets here at SqWires) – children free when accompanied by adults.

At the holiday season, SqWires is helping to fight hunger in more than one way.  The chefs are preparing special items for our local hunger-relief programs and SqWires staff will bring canned and boxed food items to the

annual Christmas Eve party.  We will be pleased to add your contribution, if you’d like to drop off a donation.

And on the seventh night of Christmas, that last night of December, we hope you’ll join us in greeting the New Year.  Make your reservations now, because we’ll fill up quickly, for dinner beginning at 6pm.  Order from our specially prepared al a carte menu and stay for the sounds of the Falling Martins and the midnight festivities.

During 2010 we’ve enjoyed bringing you what matters most when you’re dining out – food, service, ambiance.  We look forward to sharing your best of times in 2011.
