October 2010

I’m glad the days are finally cooling off. Here at SqWires, we’re stacking the wood for the fireplace, bringing in the pumpkins from local growers and looking forward to the refreshing feeling autumn brings to our lives.

October brings some of the finest days for dining outside on our patio – a perfect setting to try all the new items on our fall menu. The butternut squash bisque has just a hint of nutmeg and is a favorite of diners from grandbabies to grandparents. The daily omelet specials feature just harvested veggies and local artesianal cheeses. Look for entree specials that may have a local treat such as roasted sunchokes and smokey greens. And our housemade bread pudding will be folded with lots of sweet apple chunks.

Your fall entertaining for family, friends and business colleagues will be easy and fun here at SqWires. The Annex and the Restaurant offer the ideal blend of an eye-catching setting, comfort and tantelizing food. Talk with Bethany to book a date and make your plans.

No need to take a road trip to enjoy the sights and sounds of fall. Enjoy the turning leaves here in Lafayette Square and stop by to listen to Tom Hall, Falling Martins, C-Box Prophets, Monica Casey, Leslie Sanazaro, For One Night Only, Bill Murphy, Caleb Travers, Margaret Bianchetta, Curt Landes, Brian Curran, Bumblebee Bob Kamoski on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

I’m falling for autumn in a big way. Come on in and enjoy it with us.
